How it works

Do what the buyer would do. Keep what the buyer would keep.

A buyer isn't only buying your earnings. It's buying the systems, people and processes that keep producing them after you step back, and it discounts everything that doesn't. We find the changes a buyer would value most relative to what they cost, and make them before the sale.

1

Step one

Assess

We look at the business the way a buyer would: likely value today, what a buyer would question, where it depends on you or a few people, and how well operations, systems, finance and sales hold up. Then we rank the possible changes by what they would add to the sale price against what they would cost.

If nothing is worth doing, we tell you that.

2

Step two

Design

We take the few changes at the top of that list and build a short, company-specific plan: what changes, in what order, who does it, and how we'll know it worked.

For technology and AI, that means interviews with you and the people around the business, then a short list of six to ten specific uses, from teaching your team to use the tools they already have to automating whole workflows.

3

Step three

Implement

Experienced operators and specialists we know and trust work inside your business, part-time or full-time, alongside your managers: documented processes, systems and software that fit how you work, AI where it actually helps, reliable monthly numbers, a repeatable sales process, decision rights, and the transfer of know-how and customer relationships away from one or two people.

Their pay is tied to measurable results.

4

Step four

Measure what changed

We track evidence a buyer can check: fewer decisions and approvals routed to the owner, process performance, adoption of new systems, reporting quality, and operating results.

5

Step five

Sell when ready

If you choose to sell through our firm, the people who improved the business already know it, the changes made and the risks that remain. A portion of the success fee can potentially reimburse some or all of the improvement cost agreed at the start. The exact terms depend on the company and are documented before any work begins.

What we don't do

  • We don't recommend without implementing.
  • We don't try to fix everything.
  • We don't give legal, tax, personal financial or investment advice.
